The statue of St. John Nepomucene, Hruševica
The statue of St. John Nepomucene in the centre of the town Hruševica. It is quite unusual that the Czech Patron Saint of Water and Bridges stands in the middle of a Karst village and not next to a river or bridge, but according to oral tradition the statue was brought to the Karst by Czech soldiers during World War II. The statue is believed to have been erected on one of the bridges in Goriška and that it is the work of the Gorizia/Gorica sculptor G. Mazzoleni.
