Karst is a wine-growing region with 2000-year old tradition of vine cultivation and winemaking. Because of thin red brown soil layer called "Terra rosa" or "jerina", a constant drought due to lack od surface water, bora wind, and abundance of sun, the vines of Karst region are full of delicious grapes, from which the Karst people have been making excellent wines for centuries.
The Karst wine road connects cellars, tourist farms, guest houses in the Karst wine-growing region.
